How to Attach a Phone Charm to a Standard Mobile Phone
We often receive enquiries from inquisitive charm enthusiasts asking us for advice on how to attach our phone charms to their mobile phones. At the end of the day, it depends on the cell phone you have. There are various ways of attaching your favourite charms to your phone.
For those of you with the older style phones that have a small antenna, the best course of action is to simply unscrew the antenna, place the phone strap (loop cord) carefully around the main screw fixture and then screw the loose part of the antenna back into place. All done and what a lovely phone charm you have!
Most phones these days do not have antennas, so the most common method of attaching charms to mobile phones is to locate the one or two small loop holes that most phones have. Depending on the make and type of mobile phone, these small holes can either be located at the top, side, bottom or sometimes even on the back inside of the phone. Simply thread your phone charm's phone strap through the small loop hole(s), bring it back on itself by looping the charm through the already threaded phone strap and pull tight. Hey presto, you now have a lovely piece of charm jewellery attached to your phone.
Of course, if your phone does not have loop holes or you cannot locate them, then have you considered buying a case for your mobile phone? Such cases are a brilliant way of attaching charms to iPhones and other smart phones. There are many varieties of hard cover mobile phone cases, some plain and others with fantastic colours and designs. Most cases will have some sort of hole, either on the side or top. This is to allow you continued access to your jack and charger points while your phone wears it's new case. Simply thread your charm's phone strap (loop cord) through the cases's hole, looping the charm back through the already threaded cord and then carefully fit the case onto your phone.
Another simple way, although it only works with certain mobiles, is to remove the phone's back cover and lay the charm strap carefully on the top or bottom inside and then reattach the back cover. This effectively holds the cord in place by trapping it between the inside of your phone and the back cover, allowing for the mobile phone charm of your choice to be securely attached to your phone.
Until next time.
